  • Cardan Shaft

Cardan Shaft is a mechanical component for transmitting torque and rotation, usually used to connect other components of a drive train that cannot be connected directly because of distance or the need to allow for relative movement between them.

  • Universal Joint

Universal joint is a joint that connects rigid rods whose axes are inclined to each other that are used in shafts to transmit rotary motion.  Universal Joint has closely together pair of hinges that are oriented at 90° to each other and connected by a cross shaft.   • Universal Joint Shaft


Universal joint shaft are used to transmit torque from one shaft to another which are offset to each other. It is an ideal form of coupling two shafts when offset is unavoidable. Spline type universal joint is made from heat treated alloy steels for increased over load and reliability.
Precision machining of Universal joint shaft ensures optimum performance under severe load conditions. They must therefore be strong enough to bear the stress, whilst avoiding too much additional weight as that would in turn increase their inertia.

  • Universal Coupling

Universal Couplings may be connected at the ends in various ways, but it is desirable that the strength of the connection should be at least equal to the Torque of the coupling. The coupling may be keyway type or square bore Even when the driving and driven shafts are at equal angles with respect to the intermediate shaft, if these angles are greater than zero, oscillating moments are applied to the three shafts as they rotate. These tend to bend them in a direction perpendicular to the common plane of the shafts.

  • Cross Bearings      

Cross Bearings are compass bearings of two or more points taken simultaneously to fix a position.

  • Propeller shaft

Propeller shaft transmits power from the gearbox to the rear axle and sometimes also called as cardan shaft. Normally the shaft has a tubular section and is made in one- or two-piece construction. The two-piece arrangement is supported at the midpoint by a rubber mounted bearing. 

  • Universal joint cross

Universal joint crosses are connectors used to transmit rotary motion from one shaft to another shaft that is not in line with the first, or when alignment varies during service.
